Toronto Family Day Activities 2013

Family Day has been set aside in February to celebrate and spend time with family and loved ones – and to break up the long stretch of winter that comes between New Years Day and Easter. There are plenty of things to do… find Toronto Family Day Activities this Monday Feb. 18, 2013! If you’re in the Toronto Beaches area catch the 6th Annual Family Day Festival early on Sunday, Feb. 17th, 2013!

Family Sunday in the Beach

  • Sun. Feb. 17, noon – 5 pm
  • Kew Gardens, 2075 Queen St. E.
  • The Beach BIA presents a fun-filled afternoon for the family Sunday. Petting zoo, hop on and off vintage trolley, entertainers, ice sculpting, wine tasting and more. Supported by Beach BIA businesses.

The Second City Presents… Family Day Funny

  • Family — if you can’t laugh at them, they’ll drive you nuts! Sure, your kids may sometimes forget their chores, or be picky eaters, but you wouldn’t trade them for the world! (or until someone comes along with a better offer). So bring the whole family to enjoy an hour of laughs presented by Toronto’s legendary comedy troupe.Family Day Funny is a classic Second City comedy show — complete with some of our all-time favourite sketches – adapted for an audience of all ages. Recommended for ages 5 – 100.
  • Monday February 18, 2013 Performances at 12noon & 2pm, Approx running time: 60 minutes, Food and beverages are available for purchase within the theatre.

HarbourKids Skating Festival

  • February 17 and 18
  • There’s something for the whole family to enjoy from skating and snow castles outside to dance competitions and Rap Battlez inside. Get involved in some interactive theatre, create a self portrait using various media, make a stuffed polar bear or create something original in LEGO®!

Toronto’s KidsFest at the International Centre

  • February 17 and 18
  • Kidsfest is Canada’s Largest Indoor Inflatable Show. Bounce, laugh, play, run and scream in 50,000 sq. ft. of some of North America’s largest indoor inflatables.

Stuff that’s closed

  • All LCBO and Beer Stores will be closed on Monday, so you better re-stock your supplies of Louis XIII cognac before then.
  • All public libraries and banks will also be shut on Monday, so if for some reason you’re going to need massive piles of money or books on Family Day, stock up before then.
  • Most businesses, Queen’s Park, the Toronto Stock Exchange and Toronto City Hall will also shut their doors for the holiday.
  • Post offices located in closed retail outlets

Stuff that’s open

  • The TTC will be operating on its regular holiday schedule, and Go Transit will be running on its Saturday schedule.
  • Movie theaters will be open for business, so you can go see that new movie with that person in it.
  • Eaton Centre, Square One, Vaughan Mills and Pacific Mall, as well as Bloor-Yorkville and Yonge Street shopping districts
  • Why not learn things—for fun? The ROM, the AGO, and the Ontario Science Centrewill all be open.
  • All city-run outdoor skating rinks will be open, and there will be scheduled times for leisure skating.
