You’re right Geoffrey, it’s always a tough call. The market is currently on the Seller’s side. Most properties are seeing multiple offers and are selling for more than their predecessors. If you need to move and are looking for a time to pull the trigger now is the time. However if you are just curious and don’t really need to move you may want to seriously think about where you would buy. Remember, you’re Selling High but you’re also buying High. There is an opportunity for you to Sell your highly desirable beach home and transfer to a more up and coming community like the Junction for example where home prices are high but far from the peak in my opinion The East Danforth and little gems in East York area also have some interesting opportunities.
I see prices continuing to move higher. Having said that, the inventory of listings is extremely low right now – which will give sellers the upper hand. So yes, it’s a good time to list & sell.
The flip side of that question is always: It it’s a good time to sell, what will you buy?

Interesting, looks like Toronto’s Hottest Neighbourhoods are The Beach and Junction-High Park right now:

Both are tied at 36 days… or how long it would take that neighbourhood to run out of inventory (homes for sale) if nothing new were listed.
