Canada Day Toronto Beaches 2013

Happy Birthday Canada! If you can’t be in Ottawa for the big party and aren’t heading up north to a cottage for the weekend, head down to the Toronto Beaches this July 1st to celebrate Canada Day! Remember, please don’t drink and drive no matter where how you enjoy this Canada Day :-)

Here’s what’s happening:

  1. Canada’s birthday is celebrated every year with free fireworks on the expanse of the Beach at Ashbridge’s Bay Park. Starts after 10:30pm.
  2. Q107 presents an all-day music fest at Woodbine Park. The free event also offers a licensed drinking area, a family fun zone, and a fireworks display at night. Schedule:

    Michael White & The Q107 Rock Houseband – noon
    Little Foot Long Foot (Q107 Classic Rock Discovery Series) – 1:15 p.m.
    Materialistic (Classic Rock Cover Band) – 2 p.m.
    Brass Transit (Chicago Tribute Band) – 3:15 p.m.
    Carpet Frogs (Classic Rock Cover Band) – 5 p.m.
    MamaKin (Aerosmith Tribute Band) – 6:25 p.m.
    Hot Roxx (Rolling Stones Tribute Band) – 7:50 p.m.
    Floyd Factor (Pink Floyd Tribute Band) – 9:15 p.m.
    Canada Day Fireworks + DJ – 10:30 p.m.

What’s Closed July 1st.:

  • Libraries, City of Toronto offices
  • Government buildings, post offices, banks
  • Liquor/beer stores and many grocery stores
  • City of Toronto child-care centres
